Kathy, BCBA, LABA is thrilled to have joined Family Perspectives. Working here allows her to integrate her training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, and Counseling. She has a long history working with individuals and their families who are impacted with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and significant behavioral challenges. Kathy comes to FPI having worked for the past 25 years as a Director of Clinical and Behavioral Services for several different agencies.
Throughout the course of her professional career Kathy has worked in Massachusetts, New York, Wyoming, and New Mexico. She has taught pre-school, developed a program to allow at risk children to remain in their homes, provided counseling supports in an adolescent crisis center, managed a respite home for children with disabilities, provided individual and group therapy in a clinic, and directed the behavioral and clinical supports for numerous residential programs. Kathy has extensive experience assisting with transitioning students into adult services. Kathy’s eclectic background allows her to take a holistic look at each individual with whom she works while adhering to evidenced based strategies to increase skills and pro-social behaviors and reduce interfering behaviors.
Kathy received her Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta in Elementary Education and Educational Psychology. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Wyoming in Counseling. As the field of ABA became more independent and the Behavior Analytic Certification Board was established, Kathy went on to receive further training from the University of North Texas in ABA to allow her to sit for the BCBA exam. Kathy has been board certified since 2010. She is currently licensed to provide ABA services in both Massachusetts and New York.
